Re: I can't stand seeing the models head jerk in response to a direct head shot

1. Is the inaccuracy still in effect in iron sights mode? The crosshair disappears so it's kind of hard to tell.
I don't know exactly what you mean here. I think it makes it a little more acurate but generally works as a limited zoom.
The feature that's been around since Counterstrike/Rainbow6, the crosshairs growing whenever you move/run/fire full auto. Since the crosshairs disappear completely when you zoom in, it's hard to tell just how accurate your shots are. Can I blaze away with a SAW on full auto in this mode with little effect on my aim?
They eliminated scope drifting in this game, if that's what you're talking about. I don't know about gravitational pull though. Sniping just seems like it's minimal damage except for head shots, with the upgraded sniper rifle this seems the same, even though you can drop a car with a good shot from it.

Another big change to the gameplay here is the lack of scope drift, which is somewhat disconcerting. Snipers in Battlefield 1942 had to contend with the slight but present drifting of their aim after zooming out and shooting, but in Battlefield 2, scope drift seems to have been eliminated altogether, which may have some adverse effects on the balance of classes on servers. Those of us who played a lot of Battlefield 1942 have fond memories of trying to win matches when half of our team was up in the hills, missing three quarters of their shots and not even bothering to attempt to capture flags. The lack of even a minimum of scope drift to make the class at least seem difficult to play may result in more problematic situations, where all the new players insist on doing their worst Vasily Zaitsev impression and wind up making it difficult for their team to capture flags. Heck, there isn't even any scope drift when you zoom while standing up (we managed to make a few 100-meter kills this way). Not that it's necessarily easy to be a sniper, and the ability for opposing players to sprint is going to make it difficult to hit moving targets. Still, a little more difficulty, if only to make the class something that requires practice to get good at, would've been appreciated.
BF2 snipers too powerful? OMFG 100 METER KILLS! What the Santorum? Even when my crosshairs were dead on some stationary dude's face it hasn't killed them. I don't think I've ever dished out or received a one-hit sniper kill yet. You're better off just using an assault rifle. 9 out of 10 times I've run into a sniper/non-sniper long range shootout, the non-sniper won. I'm guessing scope drift is the scope moving around from shakey hands? I'm talking about bullets dropping over distances, so that in BF1942 you had to aim higher the further you were from the targets
