Re: Star Wars to Narnia segue

They just seemed like great stories to me. Maybe I'll hate them if I read them again, though. :(
You will.
I remember thinking that "The Last Battle" was one of my favorite books growing up. A couple years ago I was in a Waldenbooks and came across the C.S. Lewis section. If I remember right my girlfriend told me how she liked the books George R.R. Martin is working on (I guess the new one, Crows, just finished, BTW) so we originally planned on buying one of those. And I do mean "we" because it took the two of us working in concert to haul it out of the store. Anyway, those two series are like right next to each other so I threw TLB onto A Storm for Swords. Upon re-reading, I hated everyone in The Last Battle. I hated the ape, the donkey and whichever of the two were named "Puzzle" I hated even more. I hated the lion and the centaur and both kids. Fans of this series will come out of the woodwork to freak out like Hitch Hiker's fan and Rings fan did when their books got turned into movies, but anything the director does to change around the mood of the Narnia books for film can only be for the better.
