Re: Star Wars to Narnia segue

Well, it kinda feels like my childhood has been beaten with a stick. But then I remembered the Narnia trailer! Which makes me happy. Apparently they really intend to do a 7 part movie series here.
The Narnia thing is probably a direct result of The Lord of the Rings' success. We had to read the whole series in third grade, all of our class projects and stuff revolved around it. I liked reading them, but they kind of reminded me of 'Bible Stories on Tape' that my grandparents had me listen to when I told them I wasn't going to church ever again. Later on I found out why they had that Revelations smell all over them: C.S. Lewis was a friend of Tolkein, who helped him find religion. Lewis decided not to be a Catholic like Tolkein, went over to the Anglican Church, and wrote Narnia. Tolkein was apparently jealous of the popularity of Lewis' Chronicles. For all of Tolkein's genius as a mythologist, he wasn't 1/10th of the storyteller Lewis was. I think Disney should have made this animated if they're going to do 7 parts...oh wait, they stopped making animated films.
Chronicles in Amber
I'll give my permission for someone to make an HBO miniseries of this, but only if the first episode opens with the words "You should bid on Strength, it's the most important attribute." Strangely, every time someone brings up Amber I think of...amateur porn and strippers. Then I think of Anime, for some reason. Like the weird philosophy and backstabbing would just fit in a TV series by the guys who did Full Metal Alchemist. /jeep/ ...mmm strippers.
