Re: a few good points to balance this review out

- The sequel BETTER have me gunning down Jedi.
Appearently not going to happen, due to LucasArts laying off their staff and "the company will be concentrating on fewer titles," i.e. KOTOR. I really hoped this would be the game where somebody with no saber might actually wax a Jedi, reinforced by the WICKED BURN on the discarded lightsaber and the melee droids. Now that every shooter's got bullet time, everbody is scrambling to get gravity guns into their games, but I'd like some better squad controls already. Republic Commando had a good idea, context sensitive command button that changed depending on what you're pointed at. If anything they didn't have enough of it. They give you sniper boxes when you need them, they give you anti-armor boxes when you'll be fighting big droids, and you'd better fucking use them. The whole game is constructed around what crates are currently available. There's a turret there?? SHOULD WE USE IT??? The big choice is hack the door or blow it up. The best use of the command button they have is during the previously mentioned hanger bay invasions. Compared to HL2 style wait here/follow me and Rainbow Six encyclopedias of keymaps for squad control, it's great. So why didn't they put it in the multiplayer? That's one area where most of the game's weak points wouldn't matter as much, but they didn't add the game's main good point. In conclusion: best idea for a Half Life mod ever released by LucasArts.
