Reminds me of this review of one of the only 2 RTS games I have ever enjoyed.
I never really considered Sacrifice a RTS game. It wasn't real heavy on the strategy, or even that balanced, but it was gorgeous, polished, and just a blast to play. The single player campaign anyways. Multiplayer games weren't really that great. Once you managed to get a game going amongst the 6 people online at a time, it was pretty much just a one minute dash for neutral souls, than a minute or two of skimish with your opponent until one of you got a soul advantage, at which point you were steamrolled and fucked. Most of the games were decided the instant you ran into your opponent; whoever had collected more neutral souls before won. Which also makes it like Advance Wars in my mind. A blast to play single player as you attempt to triumph over the stupid but numerically superior computer, but just not that great multiplayer. Mad dash for neutral cities until you meet and skirmish with your opponent for a couple turns. First person to get a slight income advantage steamrolls and fucks the other. Also not the greatest balance between CO's.
