Scott Orr disagress with you!

Supremacy I've really, really always wanted to like this game, but it's horribly, horribly broken. Basic premise is Risk with resources (oil, grain, minerals, money), logistics, and nukes. Would be fun, but is broken for several reasons.

The ultimate in mass produced garbage. A pointless risk clone that me and my friends played a bunch in high school, convinced that we must have misunderstood something fundamental about the game. No, we didn't. I can't recall a game that didn't end in nuclear winter. This is a great example of people (in the boardgame world) saying, "you just need to play it right to enjoy it." No, no I don't. I'd like to see one of the great boardgame designers like Knizia or Tresham take a design like this an beat it into shape. This game sucks.

Whether it was ever broken in the first place is arguably--it was _designed_ to be manipulated, that being part of the game (it's not just a game of military strategy). That being said, the 3.0/Mega rules make the one important change of allowing each player to sell or buy only once before passing to hte next player. Scott Orr
Duh! It was designed to be broken out of the box in order to allow players to excercise game design strategy (it's not just a game of military strategy). The mega rulebook is like 200 pages long. Someone just posted new add on rules to model six different kinds of ballistic missiles (the original rules have Diplomacy-like armies and navies and that's IT). All the add on rules remind me of what we all did as little kids when a game wasn't going the way we wanted it to; instead of making some clever fundamental change, we'd just keep adding more and more "band-aid" rules to try and patch it up until the whole thing was ridiculously complicated and all the fun bled out. This is also further proof that Zseni is a 5 year girl trapped in a bull dyke's body.
