I think that every single thing that an admin does, no matter how trivial, should be explained IF IT INVOLVES EDITING THE CONTENT OF A POST OR DELETING IT. Along those lines, I think the admins should use a light touch: delete the part that breaks the rules, leave the rest, and don't insert anything extra beyond a very brief note signed by the admin who took action. In other words, I think there should be agreed upon rules constraining the behavior of the admins the same as there are rules constraining the behavior of regular posters. I don't think this is a big deal. Also, I think that every dog should get two bites. And I think that counting to ten before banging out a reply to people who are just trying to help might be a good idea. Generally I think the admins do a pretty good job, and I'm gratefull. These recent actions are troublesome, however.[/quote]
