Probably not worth the money

Out of curiousity, just how many hours have you guys played, and after how many hours does it become a reasonable amount of fun? Myself, I can't imagine I'll ever have the time, which is a shame, because I haven't been beaten badly by a reclusive 12 year-old in weeks or months. Bitter.
I bet you can, but you wouldn't have $15 worth of fun a month. I made a starting Scout character on Scylla (note: it doesn't matter what you start as since you can just pick up whatever skills you want, there are no character levels, and you can set your attributes to whatever you like), did 4 fetch missions (40 minutes, $8000), bought Marksman, Artisan and Medic Skills (2 minutes, $300 total), bought someone's used DLT20 rifle and armor off the bazaar (1 minute, $2500), and I'm off to kill whatever. It can take a very long time to solo your way up the badass rifle skill chain, so you'd have to group with whoever will have you (and with that skill set, it should be easy) and do kill missions with them. You only get exp for the damage you do, but it's multiplied up to 3x for being in a group. You could reasonably make a badass combat character in a real short period of time IF you completely ignored building any craft skills or anything else but killing and you spent a lot of time fighting in groups. 10 hours a week and you'd be able to take out most characters solo within a month if you got the drop on them. I don't think that would be worth $15 a month, though. You're better off waiting for KOTOR PC to come out. I've got 26 days left on this free month, and I'm using it to decide whether I'll extend a nother month or not. I jump off and on DAOC for a month or two at a time, as well. I never pay if I'm not going to be aroudn to play the game, and it's kind of them to keep my characters around for me. /jeep/
