Re: HEAVY SPOILERS IN PARENT POST (and this one)

I also went into it hearing that the ending would suck, and imagine my delight to discover that I was completely cool with the ending. In fact, I liked the ending. What do you all think of that?
You just do that on purpose.
What I meant was that after hearing that the ending was bad a couple of times I went in, braced for a bad ending. What I discovered was the mansion bits which I was fine with (thumbs) and then 1 minute of footage that showed them in a cottage. That one minute of "cheese" was balanced by like ten awesome shots. The flash of "HELL" written on the grass. Those desiccated infected men lying on the road who could barely move when stimulated by the passing jet. The jet! A Harrier. Always fun. Jim waking up again, 28 Days Later. And finally the fact that the Harrier pilot wasn't speaking English. Wasn't speaking English!!! That's got great implications, yo. I looked it up, and the dude is speaking Finnish! In a British jet! COOL. That means a lot.
That wasn't a Harrier - I'm fairly certain it was a Finnish jet, but the european stuff blends together. I'm 100% positive it wasn't a Harrier and I'll break out my UK DvD and screenshot it to prove it if necessary :P
OOPS. Well that makes me look dumb. The Finns make jets? Holy crap! It was a cool looking jet too. Didn't it have the RAF/TheWho circles painted on the wings? That's what I was using to judge the Britishness. Still, although not AS ground shaking, it's still important to the plot that the Finns were controlling British airspace and operating the search and rescue runs.
