Re: I suck at quoting.

I returned the rental copy before beating the Smiths on hard (I played through twice: once on normal, once on hard, so I could see both sets of cutscenes. Yes, gay). The problem wasn't that you couldn't fight all the Smiths (neither could Neo, and he's the Ubermensch), it was getting gunned down by them while running away. That little Disarm trick doesn't work on Agents.
I don't care if it's not "realistic" to have Ghost/Niobe taking on multiple Smiths, it would be fun, so let me do it god dammit. If they have to preserve the integrity of the story or whatever BS they're trying to shovel, and only Neo can take on multiple Smiths, then fucking let me be Neo. This game really needed some actual boss encounters if only to break up the monotony of fighting virtually nothing but SWAT members the entire game. Did you notice how trying to fight Agents went? Insead of any skill or strategy being involved it seemed that every time you tried to attack them they'd just automatically hit you and know you down; the rebound off the wall jump kick was the only thing that consistantly hit them. Oh, and great job with the bullet dodging animation guys; you could go straight up to an Agent and empty a automatic clip point blank and he'll dodge them all. So much for the "dodge this" scene (these guys are fast enough to dodge bullets, but cant react to having a gun to their head for five seconds? Likewise with Neo falling for a sucker punch by Smith). I thought I was clever when I finally got the grenade launcher and turned to face the Smiths chasing me. They dodge the actual grenade, fair enough, but then dodge again when it explodes directly behind them and the explosion misses????? I actually hit one with a grenade once, he was still alive. Fine Mr. Designer, I'll run away from agents like you want me to.
That. Fucking. Blew. It should have ended with Seraph and the Oracle bits, because those at least opened up some new ideas. (WTF is up with the "child"?) The Tunnels of the Real were a waste of time.
The Oracle actress didnt really seem to be into it during her cutscenes. You had trouble with the Seraph (how many times do we have to listen to that guy say "But first, I must apologize"?) fight? Did you or anyone else who made it to the tunnels of the real run into the same graphical glitch I did? The tracers for the guns would dissapear everytime I had active sentinels on the rear side, and I couldn't shoot in front of me until every rear sentinel had exploded, which was a real bitch because the vast majority of damage came from the front (those things could take you down 65% in a few seconds, rear ones never did more than 5%). Thanks to not having anycrosshairs it's impossible to aim without seeing the tracers. Thankfully I had the gamefaqs guide's helpful hint of "just hold down the fire button the entire time without ever moving the mouse; all the sentinels will fly into your fire". Bingo!
