Although I now dread using algebraic expressions on Caltrops, I'll give it a try here to clarify what I meant: combat_sh4 = combat_sh3 combat_sh4 = not_laughably_easy Thanks to the transitive property of equality, we now know that I think combat_sh3 = not_laughably_easy. In fact, I quickly gave up on playing on the extra difficulty settings, because it transforms from a survival horror title into a stealth game where you simply can't afford to attract attention until after you've snuck by an enemy. Even dogs can almost immediately kill you with one attack, and everything moves damn fast. I actually thought SH1 got fairly tough on the harder stages as well. For some reason my timing sucked with melee weapons, so the dogs were incredibly tough for me to deal with in the beginning stages. I spent a lot of time running away from things in that game, at least until I had stockpiled a decent amount of ammo. And of course SH2 was the easiest game ever. In fact, that's why I brought up the combat at all - I was merely trying to reassure you that even if you hate everything else about SH4, at least the combat hasn't taken a huge step backwards the way SH2's did.[/quote]
