Yes, if you put it that way (which I unfortunately did)

Just fyi: that saving throw argument is probably the worst you could have used, if you want to dodge yourself (instead of an abstract mechanism doing it for you) then you clearly want to play sko action game. In other words you want rpgs to be more like Tomb Raider. :D
All I meant to say (I was at this point having trouble finding new synonyms to say this in a 9th or 10th way) was that you don't throw dice to make a saving throw in a video game, once again it's all behind the scenes... but then I started getting all confused, there was talk about elf sex, and I guess somewhere in there I decided that FPSs have a better system for dodging and so forth, which is obviously just a preference. Somebody brought up Freedom Force, which has a great implementation for RPG rules: you don't have to know THAC0s or saving throws, it just takes care of it for you, and so you're not bothered with that information. I was about to bitch about how it still tells you the numbers involved when you hit someone, but that's so thrilling when you hit somebody and it throws up a big red 150 that I guess some numbers are actually more fun to know. So, what RPG should I buy that's under 20 bucks? FoK
