Re: Heh

I never was much for playing mages.
Mmm, forget PS:T then. The game is only a shadow of itself in nearly every aspect (dialogue, XP opportunities, character-based involvement) if you don't play as a mage. The usual routine is to play once as a fighter, get your bearings, and then replay as a mage. A good way is to play a fighter up to level 6, then switch to mage to level 7, then back to fighter until level 9, then back to mage for good, with a brief stop in theivery if you give a shit. Senor Barborito has a great method for starting out, but I'll let him explain it beyond saying that you'll be a badass about an hour or so of gametime after getting out of the mortuary. Also, forget Baldur's Gate 2, but I suspect you have. There's another game that puts magic on a pedestal. BDR
I think the last place I liked mages was Dark Queen of Krynn. But just because the multi-class and dual class lent themselves to such abuse. I tried playing one in Arcanum, but realized I hated the whole game about half way through and dropped it. BG2 was, needless to say, a meaningless experience for me...I played it through just so I could put it away and never look at it again. I might have to try PS:T again sometime, as soon as I have access to my stuff again. I really resent that thievery is so worthless, though.
