Actually I just use the stock boxed AMD heatsink/fan for my XP 2600+ (2.0 GHz chip or 166x12.5 WHICH IS NOT OVERCLOCKING for 2600) - I don't use Artic Silver. CPU temp never goes above 130F, which is fine. I honestly don't know why Fussbett's isn't working, it sounds like he did the same thing I did with a marginally slower chip. I can't for the life of me think of why things aren't working - power supply (have you tried a power supply from another computer?) voltage issues (is it a high-quality power supply or just CompUSA 'mystery' brand?) or did the chip just fucking burn out when it was supposed to work? In any case this is why I always buy retail boxed chips - three year warranty without any real hassles. Also, I know that this is 'how they meant it to be used.' In the future, AMD will not honor warranties for non-boxed cooling solutions, supposedly. The only time I've ever fried a motherboard was when I used a shitty micron board that literally exploded in an array of fireworks and smoke back in the BP6 days. From thenceforth - Asus or Abit, and only those two. --SB
