What happened to Zero Insertion Force technology? It only took them three years to figure out that you could use the planar screw to apply pressure instead of crazy sheet metal clips, and of course that requires you to remove the entire motherboard. Also, I had a similar issue with the old setup (which I guess you've torn up with the screwdriver incident), although mine was more out of the blue. Woke up with the case at about a million degrees (Celsius) and the MB beeping like crazy. Obviously, it didn't want to boot. Worked for about two weeks after it had cooled down, but then I had a similar shutdown to yours and a complete inability to power on. Since I didn't have another mobo or CPU handy, it was back to the shop. Needless to say, this is both the first computer I've owned that required a separate heatsink and the first that I could not fix single-handedly. Draw your own conclusions. Hint: Intel?[/quote]
