It just seems goofy, because I really can't see any benefits coming from the research -- computer games are so demonized in this country that even when an effective real-world benefit IS discovered (like apparently the peripheral vision thing) it's ultimately written off due to the perception that games are a waste of time, except for when you're shooting up your school, in which case they are the sole and only cause. You make a good point regarding military operations. But I've never been anywhere near a combat situation, so I can't speak as to whether or not the awareness you evidently pick up playing shooters even compares in the slightest to spending a single night in the jungle next to Charlie. Plus, in the article, everything that came out of the researchers' mouths seemed to have a "LOL!!!" coming on afterwards and that bugs the shit out of me.
