Really REALLY bad review, says Neotaku forumite
http://www.neotaku.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6561 This is the forum where that early pre-emptive strike guy stormed in to say that the review was bad. He was the point man for an assault that never accumulated. The letter S of a Shock & Awe blitz. This thread actually has a surprising mix of level heads amongst the crazies, to the forum's credit, and it's especially surprising if you look around at some of the other threads ("Boobies Poll" -- where there is no wrong answer, and "WHO HERE IS A GIRL" where the 0 responses speak volumes). Still, some posts are worth talking about. Normally I'd want to rant about them being cowards for not replying here, but this thread was going on before the article even went "hot" (as they say nowhere), so I guess I'll cut them slack for that.
Sounds like he was dissapointed that he couldn't see any nudity! LOL I would pay this no attention at all! It's almost laughable! The whole "review" seems more like a tirade by an 8 year old for Pete's sake! Just toss that in the 2% bad reviews of DOAXBV!
I was disappointed that I couldn't see any nudity. You know who else was disappointed about that? Every-fucking-one. Because the game has nothing else to offer. Being more explicit would've been the game's only saving grace.
The volleyball deserves more then a 30%. It should be like a 80%. I played Beach Spikers and the volleyball in that games was not as good as the volleyball in DOAXBV.
To start with, you've completely misread the 30% breakdown business, and confused it for a score. This shouldn't surprise me as you've also confused the excellent BEACH SPIKERS for a bad game. What ails you, son? Do you have some sort of inner ear injury? I prescribe that you play Beach Spikers about a hundred more times and notice all sorts of stuff that's not in DOAXBV. Things like court positioning, the importance of timing, directing the ball like it matters, strategy, and oh yes, the inclusion of PLAYER THREE and PLAYER FOUR.
I sounds as if he played it for about 30 minutes after he was in a bad mood because he had lost his job and got hired by that crappy website!!!! Just had to get that out of my system.
The apology for your outburst is accepted. I know how wild a person can get when he's had a bit too much Code Red after dinner, and our very own Cran-Grape forum is testament to that. To address your point, I will agree that this job sucks and is extremely low paying to boot. Love the Cartman avatar, by the way. The Yankees will win the 1998 World Series, in case you'd like to do a little wagering.
How the hell do you play the game with one hand?
The D-pad is nearly inconsequential. I'll let Itagaki on this one. XBN: Is it true that Beach Volleyball can be played with one hand? Leaving the other hand, um, free? Itagaki: Yes. But that's more to do with keeping the control simple. I have a 5-year-old daughter. I want her to be able to play the game easily.
To be honest, this is one of those times where ignoring it would be the best option. If anyone's looked at the other "reviews" this board has put up, as well as the fact that one of the "reviewers" is a notorious troll in the Usenet videogame and anime newsgroups (at least), then they'd realize that the folks behind that site have their heads up where the sun don't shine.
They're onto you, Bill Dungsroman, you anime troll, you. This dude is doing research on us! Isn't there some sort of DHTACT private member's bill we can enact to protect our privacy or something? Someone call the EFF. I want Stormfalcon banned from ever looking at my text again.
This review was really feeling like... harsh...
This is a good finalé because I actually felt bad about this one. You can feel the sigh if you pause at those ellipses properly as the author intends. It's got me thinking, re-evaluating. Was I too... harsh?
