Let me try this

I play RPGs and watch Ranma as part of my geek quota, since I don't like Star trek or Star Wars after the very first movie. The going theory is there's ~20 hobbies that are geek hobbies and you have to have like 8 of them to qualify. Anyway, I don't like furries, tentacle pr0n, or anything else creexul in a less self-hating moment would label "kawaii," I don't like flighty shit or anything else, but there's like this dead minimum quota you have to reach.
1. I play RPGs. 2. I love Star Wars. 3. I like Star Trek. 4. I hang out on internet message boards. 5. I like comic books. 6. I like DnD. 7. I like Buffy TVS. 8. I like MST3K. Damn.
I enjoy measuring penis size here, so . . . 1. I play computer games.1 2. I like Star Wars 3. I love Star Trek 4. I hang out on and run the server of an internet message board 5. I like Buffy TVS 6. I enjoy model rocketry 7. I love good anime2 --SB 1 More than you do. Trust me. 2(GitS, Akira, Cowboy Bebop, maybe Kenshin OVAs)
1. I play computer games 2. I like Star Wars 3. I like Star Trek 4. I love Babylon 5 5. I coded and hang out on an internet message board 6. I like the two episode of Buffy TVS that I've seen 7. I love good anime 8. I am an IT fag and computer programmer 9. I have a ponytail I think my ponytail matches your model rocketry, but B5 pushes me over the top. -/ES/-
Lessee here: 1: I play computer games (but not as much as you freaks). 2: I liked the first 3 star wars, but hate the prequels. 3: I like the Star Trek movies but hate the show. 4: I wouldn't be caught dead watching Babylon 5, but I fucking love Trading Spaces. 5: I sometimes post <s>and sometimes troll</s> on an internet message board. 6: I love the Buffy show, but am never home when it's on. 7: I don't believe "good" anime exists (yes, I have seen Akira and GitS). Oh yeah, Princess Mononoke sucked, too. 8: I worked tech support and quit it to become a grad student in music. Dang. I feel like my geek factor is so flaccid and underperforming. How's these to make it up: 9: In junior high I bought the Shadowrun books (the rulebooks) to read about the gaming world, though I had no intention of ever playing the game. 10: in college my band played TMBG covers. (Destination Moon, Santa's Beard, to name a couple) 11: I'm such a guitar geek now that last week a guy described a Jazzmaster as being Dakota Red, to which I said under my breath <i>"It's not Dakota Red, it's Fiesta Red"</i> <b>and I was right!</b> That's got to be worth a ponytail. But not a ponytail/trenchcoat combo. You don't wear a trenchcoat, do you?
Not playing Shadowrun was a brilliant move, wasting money on the rules less so. But I'm not sure listing all the sci-fi shows you watch really counts as seperate bullet points. Also, I wasn't aware the MST3K was an indicator of geekdom. Here's me: 1. I play RPGs 2. I loved the first three Star Wars (uncorrupted versions which I have on tape in letterbox format) 3. I like every version of Star Trek, but Voyager least. 4. I hang out on DAH INTARNET (and employ Jeff K-isms) 5. I work in IT. 6. I play computer games. 7. I play D&D. 8. In college I wore a trenchcoat and a pony tail. I wear neither now. (In High School I had a letter jacket . . . in band.) Iffy stuff that may or may not count, strictly speaking. 9. I play guitar . . . sometimes. 10. I have at least a passing familiarity with anime, good and bad. Robotech and Starblazers: mostly good, Bubblegum Crisis: stupid. 11. I program off and on. I ostensibly know C and C++, but I haven't done anything with those skills. 12. I know what <a href="http://www.urbin.net/EWW/RPG/SV/S1889/s1889rev.html">Space 1889</a> is. 13. I enjoy model rocketry to the extent that stuffing model rocket engines into paper towel tubes, making them vaguely rocket shaped with a cone of tape on the end and some half-assed fins, and firing it from a home-made shoulder launcher can be called "model rocketry".
