The rule of endings in anime:

The absolute worst, pulled out of someone's ass, ran out of ideas/money, convoluted whine fest of an ending for anything EVER. Every single person who's ever watched the series hates the ending with a passion, and a good portion of those people say if they knew the ending was going to be THAT bad then they wouldn't have bothered with it in the first place. After watching the entire series, you're never quite the same person; always muttering "fuck fuck fuck FUCK!" whenever you think about the ending.
Which one of the three endings are you talking about? Episode 26? GHAY. Applause for Shinji. I'd rather hang myself after that many hours. The film, End of Evangelion, OTOH, was quite good in my opinion, but I like stories where EVERYBODY DIES and their souls are blasted into orbit for eternity.
Even when they're doing it right, usually they're still fucking it up somehow. In this case, the End of Eva featured about 10 to 20 minutes of BORING BORING BORING PRETENTIOUS COCKSUCKING live action bullshit that should have just been clipped. There's also a bunch of totally random acid freak-out animation flashes around that time, including a count up of all the "today's episode" screens (THERE IS NO JAPANESE WORD FOR PRETENTIOUS). Japan needs editors like bad.
