Re: What's wrong with rock/paper/scissors?

TA's units weren't some gay rock-paper-scissors setup to arbitrarily force combined arms
Total War is all about rock, paper, scissors, just to warn you. And starcraft wasn't. That is all
Sacrifice is the scissors-paper-rockinest game of all time, but that doesn't mean it doesn't kick boulder-throwing, magma-spewing ass.
He said he didn't like rock/paper/scissors, but expressed an interest in TW, so I just warned him that Total war is rock/paper/scissors. C'mon, this thread was only TWO posts long. Couldn't you have read it all before blindly jumping all over my taste in RTS's yet again? I always found that mass ranged troops in sacrifice usually wrecked melee units before they got into range. Boulderdashes anyone?
If it makes you feel better, assume that I was responding to the whole idea (brought to the table by him and not you) that rock/paper/scissors is bad, which is the truth. I was really responding to him, but I didn't think to reply to his post specifically. Anyways: the ranged units don't stand a chance if you cast Run Away on your melee units (or if you have Frostwolves, which are probably the best 1st level melee unit.)
