Re: I have strongly-held opinions regarding keyboards

First: old-school, 101-key format, without Windows or right-click keys to shrink the spacebar. Stores don't sell them, but any collection of used computer parts will contain several. Don't be fooled by inferior products laying claim to additional cachet; those are strictly for show-boys.
Ahh .. I was like you once. Then I bought one of these. If you can get past the crazy cost you're left with an amazing piece of technology. Single, quick taps are considered keypresses. Put two adjacent fingers down, slide, and you move the mouse pointer. Three fingers = double click or drag. Four fingers allow you to scroll. (Simulates the scroll wheel on the mouse pad.) It also has a bunch of pseudo-macros that allow you to do things like cut+paste by just 'pinching' and 'flicking'. In practice it's not nearly as gay as it sounds and I could go on about all the other nifty things it can do but I suspect this post has already done irreparable harm to my recently non-lurking personae so I'll stop while I'm ahead.
