Carmack did more than that, not in the field of pure programming, but in single-handedly pushing the whole computer gaming industry forward. As for space flight, there are <A href="http://www.xprize.com/teams/teams.html" target="SPACE">several teams</a> currently ahead of Armadillo Aerospace's ragtag weekend engineers, there is a very big chance that they won't win the X-Prize. Secondly, I don't see how, when Carmack tries to make a rocket ship -- USING PRE-EXISTING SCIENCE -- this is worthy of respect while you hold his programming work to a higher standard.[/quote]
