Even if you were so specific that you asked, "recommend me a game where you're traveling through a misty miasma of madness having tactical turn-based battles against deformed monstrosities, and taking frequent side missions that expand the history of characters to reward you with expanded game mechanics," I'd still recommend Tainted Grail: Conquest over Darkest Dungeon 2.
