The story got flat out bad at the halfway point
Some promise early on. Was a lot better than it had any right to be as a League of Legends tie in. Somewhere past the halfway point I just stopped caring about the plot. Don't care about the two sisters because both of them are psychos without reason or accountability. Every single other plot thread went unresolved, which you would think was wishful thinking about getting future seasons, but that ending kinda closed the door... What you want is Blue Eyed Samurai on Netflix. A big plot point is removing the impurities from metal to make it better. In that sense, it's like Afro Samurai or Samurai Champloo with all the worst parts of typical anime removed. The dialog isn't wordy and overly pleased with itself. The action is constantly fast and fluid without tons of slo mo action lines. The fight choreography (storyboarding?) is great, with the characters performing actions wordlessly and the viewer understanding why they worked. No minute long anime spotlight monologue explaining why some mundane technique is the moooooost brilliant strategy ever ^______^ Only annoying anime carryover is the sidekick. This and Avatar prove that the West kicks Japan's ass at its own anime game. U-S-A!!! There are tits in every episode.
