Deadnaut: Signal Lost is out.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1801410/Deadnaut_Signal_Lost/ I didn't play the original one much, but I wanted to call this out because I enjoyed a few of their other games, and they are the only studio that specializes in one genre of game that I love a lot and have no idea what to call it. In all of their games, you are removed from the action, calling the shots from either a control panel (Deadnaut/Deadnaut: Signal Lost), a single car of a train rolling through hell (Fear Equation), or from a notebook during a zombie apocalypse (Zafehouse Diaries 1/2). Only a small handful of other games that I know about offer this second-hand gameplay where you only have a simulated interface (and ambient sound) to figure out what's going on. Duskers. Nauticrawl. Iron Lung. Scavenger SV-4. Maybe a couple others, but this is all this studio does, and I love them for it. 1. Go Screwfly Studios. 2. We need -- well, you people need to come up with a good name for this genre, because I'm coming up empty. I bounced off the original Deadnaut because it was a squad-based semi-real-time thing which didn't fit for me with the theme, but this one is turn-based, and you're one dude, roguelike-style, so I'll probably actually play this one.
