Peter Molyneux's The Movies

THE LAST JEDI fails in various ways but succeeds at being a big swing.
I personally enjoyed it more than any of the prequels and way *way* more than RISE OF SKYWALKER. As somebody that generally enjoys big blockbuster action movies (see: all the Marvel movies) it was frankly shocking to sit there in the theater and have no idea what was going to happen next and I loved that aspect of it. It seems like what Rian Johnson attempted to do in THE LAST JEDI was: open the Star Wars universe up into a franchise where you don't know exactly what you're going to get when you walk into the theater. Whether or not that was a good idea is very divisive among fans. I personally was looking forward to a movie where Rey turned to the dark side because she wanted to fuck Adam Driver. That would have been amazing. Kylo Ren and Darth Rey get taken down by a legion of broom kids; Kylo Ren turns on her in the end because he wanted her to redeem him but she ends up more evil than he is. Give me that movie! THE LAST JEDI wasn't great but at least it had the courage to be weird. RISE OF SKYWALKER is just bad.
