Forum Overview :: Motherfucking News :: Re: Halo for the PC now to be ported by GEARBOX

Finally, my stomach turned when I heard that... "Gearbox's creative focus is on the multiplayer, and the developer plans to include new maps, and may also add weapons and vehicles. " ...because one thing that everyone said about Halo was "Goddamn these vehicles and weapons suck".
The multiplayer focus makes some sense, since online coop might be something huge. Gamespot mentioned that they were adding Geforce FX optimisations, which seem pointless considering the impending Doom 3 release. Christ knows why they'd want to ADD things; coop alone brings something new to the PC scene anyway (NOLF2 doesn't count).
Yeah, upon reading what I wrote again, I realize that what I didn't make clear is that they should be focusing SOLELY on putting flawless multiplayer into the existing Halo game, not branding the already finished game with their crappy ideas. Sure, more multiplayer maps to accomodate 32 players. Of course. But, they're thinking of adding to the weapons and vehicles of a game where everyone pretty much agreed "the weapons and vehicles are incredibly perfect". I'm sure the white-hot talent at Gearbox is sure to improve things. Hey, did I mention that Gearbox's LAW rocket addition to Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will NOT be put into the multiplayer version by Ritual? Apparantly it unbalanced the game massively. I can't wait to see what similar gems they have in mind for Halo.
In any case, Vice City has been confirmed for PC. Will we still care about Halo after its release?
All of the cool people in the world have finished Vice City twice over at this point, so yes, Halo PC is vastly more important. To the cool people.
