Writer's rooms must be very weird.[/quote] Because they watched those Joss Whedon shows as teenagers (maybe college freshmen), and it has a strong link to their emotions, self-image etc. Ersatz Buffy & Firefly are all they can muster due to paucity of experience both in fiction and real life. If the 90 lb woman were actually vulnerable then you earn a hitpiece in the media that the writers, showrunners, channel <i>hates</i> women and only uses them for some sort of dark erotic torture. Everyone is in lockstep since they believe it's correct, and if they didn't then yeah they'll shrug and not rock the boat. Kid gloves consensus is followed, and she has to be a kickass child assassin superclone with a tragic past and/or memory loss. And probably effortlessly show up all the characters at any opportunity. See we love women so much, or are women ourselves with low self-esteem, so we made the character perfect! <i>DO NOT @ ME ON TWITTER oh god please!!!</i> The afflicted writers can't actually see, question, or realize the comedic depth of "throwing darts at TV Tropes". Worse still, they might take it as advice. I'm cautious about checking this out since Star Trek seems to be damaged goods made for a different audience than myself.[/quote]
