Forum Overview :: Gamerasutra :: Ars has really been going downhill since the Conde Nast acquisition
There are now a lot of articles that read just like advertisements for some movie or product. "Why the latest capeshit is really worth a watch-- honest, guys!" Ugh. They used to have a really good computer system building guide, but I think it's gone downhill. In general, the site used to feel like visiting your smelly, nerdy friend who was way into Quake. Now it feels like hanging out with a bunch of liberal arts SJWs. "Why the globe warming an extra 0.25 degrees over the next 500 years might be bad news for the Australian sea slug!" "Dumb thing that Trump has tweeted about today." "Impossibly obscure quantum physics paper that we're (poorly) summarizing to show that we FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE" Well... at least it's not as bad as the New York Times.
