Re: What photography stuff have you been throwing money at?
Mostly lenses. I want to take the plunge into a full frame camera, but I can either go used and get stabbed in real life when I try to make the transaction or go new and get metaphorically stabbed in the wallet. I bought a couple of the art lenses from Sigma's line. I really like the 85mm. That is my go-to lens. If I want to take a full portrait, I do have to make like the sniper from Team Fortress 2 and identify my target and then run away to take the shot, but it's soooo good. I bought their 20mm lens and either it needs a repair or I am doing something wrong with it. Trying to shoot at f/1.4 has been dodgy lately for me. I don't want to be the guy selling broken shit for cash on the streets. Maybe I should send it into Sigma. It's weird because sometimes it's absolutely fine. It's been fun to get into. For me, a lot of the appeal is, "there is this machine, the camera. How can I learn how to use it properly?" There's also way more information available for photography than there was for, say, programming when I was starting out. So it's easy to queue up some videos, get inspired to setup a shot and then plan on doing so. Do you like looking at people's vacation photos? I sure don't. I have posted some pics which aren't totally terrible here.
