Re: I wouldn't mind a Roe v Wade repeal

I think women should have right to have abortion, but well-regulated (20 weeks) and I think on a community level it might be OK to outlaw it. Or not, CHANGE MY MIND.
Did you ever actually read the court's decision in Roe v. Wade? I have. It's about 160 pages. This is more-or-less what Roe v. Wade did. States must allow abortions for the first trimester - 3 months, or about 12 weeks - subject to the usual regulati9on of any medical procedure that must be performed by a doctor. States can impose restrictions in the second trimester, and can impose more restrictions in the third trimester or ban abortions altogether/outright at that point. I saw an interesting comment on Law and Order in which District Attorney Arthur Branch mentions how he felt Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided. The argument was so well done and so passionately argued (although I disagreed as it was standard Republican claptrap) that I wouldn't be surprised if it had been the actor Fred Dalton Thompson's own thoughts.
