Altered Carbon
If the New York Times doesn't even understand that Cyperpunk is an actual, like, genre, can you believe anything they say about anything? "Altered Carbon - Netflix's Blade Runner Replicant" No, Altered Carbon isn't a Blade Runner 2049 clone. They didn't invent this, you goddamned idiots. There aren't even any robots in it. The lazziness is what irritates me. I used to love the New York Times, it used to mean something. And now it's lazy clickbait, little more than Gawker. Motherfuckers, this is Cyberpunk, and Blade Runner didn't invent it, you ignorant & lazy fucks. That feeling I am having, the guy in Altered Carbon is feeling the same thing, by the end of this show. Lazy blindass motherfucking critics said he had no motivation. They either didn't finish watching or they are goddamned morons. Probably both. Anyway, I liked it. There was this point midway and my brother asked me what I thought so far, told him I was liking a lot but thought it was kinda dumb. Usual deus ex plot shit had me rolling my eyes. Then I watched the next episode. O, I was the dumbass. LOL! I loved that. Nice trick! A smart show made me think it was dumb for a second, then winked at me. I also appreciate the artists working on the matt paintings. I'm a sucker for beautiful matt paintings, and you get several an episode. The premise of this show is that an Chinese guy gets put into the body of a hot white male body, and you should be outraged. In a story from, like, liberals. Y'know those kinds of people, the people the Cable's would hate. I actually cried a little when the girl saw her mom in a man's body, you'll know the scene. Everybody hating this because of Social Justice Outrage is a godamned idiot. Why do they attack themselves? I could criticise things, like how it plays with Noir but gets it wrong in a lot of ways. Noir needs the threat of a war hanging over everybody's heads, which has nothing to do with the story, as some existential threat? Whatever, it's an essential part of Noir. The Big Lebowski had Desert Storm. It is missing from this Noir. I'll forgive it. I forgive obvious things like a world where people could have any body, so then why don't they have more superhuman bodies? It sort of adressed it by showing they do have that, but it's doesn't matter much because in this world they have super kung fu that allows men and women to fight equally as well with their super kung fu. Hm, okay. In this future, on Super Bowl Sunday you have normal chicks and dudes going at it. HOLY HELL LET'S BOYCOTT FOR SOME REASON.
