They even recycle the exact same character, Stannis, invading them to take the throne even when it makes no sense (if they ever explained what he was doing beyond the wall, I missed it). The only thing killing off the characters does it prevent any kind of satisfying clonclusion to any of the arcs before they just reset the damn thing again because it's painfully obvious this is all being made up by Martin as he goes along. Dude just wants to keep it going indefinitely and get paid. - There are THREE sideplots about magical children stuck in a holding pattern for 2 or more years. Did Orson Scott Card write this? The appeal of the show was that it was mostly low fantasy. Magic-less medieval assholery was a fresh break from the Tolkein shit. Now we have magical Bran talking to animals learning to cast FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL from gay druids, and Arya's go nowhere plot. - Holy shit Arya's plot. I didn't think it could get any worse. At least wandering around with The Hound had people getting violently killed every other scene. This faceless assassin temple plot is every kung fu movie training cliche meets every conversation from The Matrix sequels meets the thrills of mortician apprenticeship. Hopefully it'll have as good a non-payoff as the Brotherhood Without Banners...shit remember them? - White messiah complex dragon lady. Remember when her getting the dragons and army made you think shit was finally going to start happening with her? Well fuck that, let's do another year of her playing Sim City. Why is it they can make King's Landing feel like a living city, yet every city she visits is an obvious green screened sound stage? - Oh boy, zombies. <i>fantasy</i> zombies![/quote]
