Lively: Google Creates Something Terrible

Re: Why are you testing Google's login shit?

Can your tests mock out third party services like that? I guess maybe it's an end-to-end smoke test that tells you whether the entire workflow is really working for real users in Prod?
Yeah - I'm not doing asserts on Google's login screen but I wanted the real world "click on a link in a mail" test to be what people really do. I am so sick of that kind of thing breaking in real life that I didn't want our stuff to suffer for it. I also feel that it's the sort of thing that (new!) customers do all the time and left to our own devices, those of us that work at a place would never do it. I picked gmail instead of one of those sites that let you login and check your mail on the go because I felt that Google would make it easy. Ha. Ha! HA! I started one of the longest Google complaint threads on the Internet, you'd think I would have learned. PS. Unrelated to my frustrations with Google, I had some of my mobile automation fail today because the Android phone picked up someone saying "OK Google" elsewhere in the building to their own phone. I thought you might appreciate that one. ICJ
