Alright, it's running out of steam
Had a blast with the first playthrough, but after that they ramp up the randomness and it's starting to annoy me. Giving the enemy their own battle cards makes shit too confusing. They don't show you the enemy card long enough, and you can't ever take a look at all their existing cards after their one brief flash. A lot of the special effects can screw you if you don't know about them and that's frustrating to be killed by one and lose half an hour of progress on a run. I'd rather they just add more enemies or make them tougher. The level mutators are what's really pissing me off though. Having one was okay-ish, but two or three or more is ridiculous. Shit flying around everywhere and it all blends it together. The different mutators are not remotely equal either. Most of the beneficial ones are useless yet they add more enemies to "balance it". I'd rather have any of the negative ones for less enemies than any of the positive ones. The absolute worst is necromancer where killed enemies come back as an ally, except the allied enemies are much worse attacking their friends than attacking you so they end up being useless. To "balance" this out, you take double damage the entire stage! Holy fuck! They really need to say what the mutators do on the arena stage screen. Right now I'm alt-tabbing out to notepad where I have it typed out. I'm making it my mission to have every deck free of consumables. Holy shit I cannot keep track of all that during a level, and most of them suck (fairy bottle restores less health than a heal card and costs twice as much). The health bar for shielded or temporarily invincible enemies is the exact same as summoned minions. I've died twice from getting swarmed because I couldn't pick out who the un-summoned ones I had to kill to advance were.
