Re: 2. Tharsis

I've said enough about Tharsis. I've said more about Tharsis than anyone else in the world. It was a perfect game, which ruined its creators because of shitty word of mouth and absolutely unforgivably embarrassing, terrible reviews. Accused of being "too hard" and "too luck-based", Tharsis was neither of those, just a perfectly balanced and executed strategy game with a timelessly compelling story -- a doomed spaceship trying to make it to its destination before splodin'. The studio had to shut down, and then the parent company came in and actually broke the game for a few weeks before putting it back in playable condition. It's still not as great as it was on release. It's all very bittersweet.
The reviews are so bad. It's too bad that Valve can't understand that they had a unique situation here. The people they were selling to were too stupid to understand the product. Should have been no refunds and no negative reviews allowed unless they were at a > 180 IQ and could prove it.
