This right here is where people decided to die on the wrong hill
I signed up for the ACA. It was a broken process at launch, then they fixed it in an iterative process that for sure beat the likes of any game company. I know this is a site where we talk about the crimes of developers a lot but the government, as developer of last resort, did it pretty well and I badly needed the services at the time. Now I don't, now I pay taxes. The people dying of cancer had plenty of hopelessness and difficulty I'm sure, but I'm not gonna speak for them. It's not great to compare suffering in quite such a fashion, dying of cancer and dying of PTSD suicide by cop after the Iraq war are both bad, the cost of both are bad. I think we put up with the many shortcomings and costs of civilization to address these things, and ultimately there was no way for me to be a taxpayer before the ACA and there's a way now. That's all I can really tell you. Feel free to argue about this internet toughguy's phrasing all night, his first salvo doesn't measure up at face value. I'm sure he can stand to learn something about not flying off the handle just like I could when I first started posting here.
