OK let's take this one step at a time
1. I have no opinion about whether the NFL should be for-profit or non-profit. I just don't know enough about their organization or the relevant parts of the tax code. 2. I agree that non-profit status is often abused. I don't really understand why the government taxes non-profits differently than for-profit companies. It's probably yet another misguided attempt by USGOV to set social policy via complex tax rules, that gets abused as a loophole by corporate lawyers. Which just gets back to my point... simplifying the tax code is more important than soaking the rich. 3. Google and Apple keeping money that they earned overseas, overseas seems perfectly reasonably to me. They already paid taxes on that money in the country they earned it in. If the rule change so that they have to pay US taxes on it, they would just change their corporate structure so that they don't have overseas subsidieries. Or a totally non-US company could start undercutting those companies by avoiding those US taxes. Bernie Sanders trying to talk about economics is like your grandmother trying to fix your PC. It ain't gonna end well.
