I mean the reason we just didn't have a normal Ghost Busters 3
I think it's fair to say Murray was a wedge in the partnership...
Well, I have one-fifth of the voice, along with the partners and the other owner of the property, the picture company, and Ivan, Billy, and myself, and Harold. We all have to sign off on it unanimously
...although I think it's for fair reason (even if that makes him a jaded egomaniac). GBII might have been financially successful, however reception was not as kind and it's basically a watered down retread. Looking at what's been produced, and the reaction so far, on the recent trailer: I see more of the same here. This is more about jump starting a franchise. It might sting for Sony to see, for example, the Marvel stuff burgeoning. They inherited the tail end of the GB money train before it dried up, and have been been interested since. It reminds me of Fox's insistence of new Star Wars films post-Jedi.
You know with men in it.
The gender angle here is largely marketing (plus influence from the box office gross of Bridesmaids?). PR firms are definitely into stirring impotent online rage to get people talking about it. If it does well commercially, then maybe you see an all-male cast, or whatever. Win-Win for them, right? If it's tepid, like test screenings that have delayed the release thus far, then it'll disappear for several years until the next genius comes up to bat.
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
PART-TIME!
