Yes the 3D starfield is more difficult to navigate than the previous games, but the fact that it's 3D makes a huge difference in gameplay terms. You'll never be trapped in a corner by the nebula, and you can return home for ship upgrades without wasting valuable time because it can easily be a stop on transit. You can still get fucked by the RNG, but that's a comparatively rare experience; and since each game is finished in a half-hour or less it's not rage-inducing like late-game RNG shenanigans in FTL. I'm gonna write a frontpage review this weekend.[/quote]
