[ mood | infuriated ] [ music | Led Zeppelin - Kashmire ] I just got my bike back from the shop last week; it was there because someone stole my disk rotor and front wheel. Last night at around 4AM, someone stole my handlebars and suspension fork. The whole front end of the bike is missing! Its the only part that was unlockable. At least I have my front tire (that was locked with a cable) but someone also went through the hassle of taking the brake rotor from the rim. It was raining last night, so my window was closed and I fell into a deep sleep by 4AM. I was out for a cigarette at 3:30AM and it was still there. --- Don't sweat the small stuff... I'm not. However, I'm going to become a vigilante now. This is the second time. I'm going to do what I used to 2-3 years ago and walk the streets late at night with my ASP (police style telescopic baton). I'll perhaps also buy a "Ka-Bar Tanto" (miltary style knife) and an aerosolized pepper spray. It won't change what happened. However, evil doers do what they do with impunity because nobody steps up to them. To be fair: I make no distinction between those involved or those who profited. I'll be a kind of para-Charles Bronson. Just a month ago, I stood at College & Spadina with a carton of Marlboro Lights in my front jacket pocket eyeing all the riff-raff (addicts etc) who would stare at my carton while I drank a coffee. I was playing a game then too: it was "ever see somebody take someting away from Joe Yance"? Unfortunately, someone won last night. Its a small small world. Perhaps I'll see my Hayes Disk Brake system, Capa Suspension or gear levers on some bike. Its bound to turn up and scores will be settled. Even if it doesn't work out that way. As far as I'm concerned, its open fucking season on all of them!
