OPTION #2
Here's option #2, once you realize that Jhoh's idea (which I call Fru Fru Fairy: Art Assets!) is undoable by a one-man team:
TABLE FLIPZ
Counter-Strike rip off where team 1 must defend an area. Maybe a simple goal like a priceless diamond, or Terri Schiavo, which can't be touched by team 2. The goal item is on the third floor of a building with many access points. Team 1 starts in the goal area, team 2 starts far away, running to the goal area. Now here's the big gimmick of the game: making good on the HL2 trailer promises. You can push furniture, stack it, block doorways, and flip tables over for cover. You've only got like 15 seconds before the other team is at your doors, so flip fast and fall back. On the attacking team you also have the ability to push or kick stuff. Stuff like doors or a cabinet that blocks a doorway. It takes three kicks to dislodge something, so hopefully you've got someone providing cover for you. When the round is over, sides switch. Hopefully the opportunity to manipulate the environment a little bit will lead to constantly changing rounds and chokepoints. If not, you could even randomize the amount and type of furniture that appears in the building each time. I think it also has the potential to be a nerve wracking game as one side waits for the intruders, nervously crouching behind a flipped table, and the other side nervously approaching each corner and doorway, knowing that the entire team lurks inside, waiting.
