I'm actually looking forward to Legacy of the Void
Preview videos of all the new units and existing unit changes are emphasizing a big push to play up tactics and micro in army battles. From launch to its current state, macro economy management has always been king in SC2. Every top level streamers repeatedly emphasizes how much more important economy is to tactics. Even a 20% advantage in army size meant assured defeat and the only real micro tactic was Protoss force field placement which was ridiculously fiddly (not to mention fuck Protoss for being overpowered in Heart of the Swarm; if this was a Games Workshop game they'd be the space marines). The game was all about the Total Annihilation/Age of Empires economy grinding where 90% of the game is following a scripted build order to the letter and what decides a match is retarded shit like the guy who went gas on his 13th drone for a roach rush beat the guy who built a queen at 12 supply instead of 14. Contrast that with Brood War where you could easily defeat an army twice as large or more if you were smart with the devastating special abilities available to each race. LotV looks like they're trying to bring that back (lurkers are back!). Tons of new units and changes that favor people who are savvy with unit army maneuvering rather than the macro guy who keeps a 40 stopwatch timer nearby so he doesn't waste a single second in ordering his control grouped queens to larvae inject every hatchery. The single player campaign will still blow.
