Re: I felt kinda bad about not responding to your question earlier but now

"Reading Lolita one time won't turn you into a pedophile, therefore no amount of reading can ever have an effect on a person's outlook." Fallacy of the heap.
Not when the thing actually doesn't happen.
When Jack Thompson says that GTA is training millions of youth to drive tanks down 42nd street it's easy to see that he's overestimating the influence of games. But that doesn't mean games (or books or movies) have zero influence.
They have zero influence. Zero. None. In fact, none of you have convinced me of shit so I will keep talking about this.
This is something you honestly believe? That books, movies, games, all media, have zero influence on how we think?
Sure. I'm not big into games. I don't even have a Steam account. I get most of my information from you guys here. A couple years ago I went and read all of oldmanmurray.com. The people making games seem like the biggest bunch of dysfunctional speds in the entire western world. Who would want to listen to what they have to say or be influenced by them? It like having your moral compass shaped by hop scotch. I have nothing but contempt for them. Even the skilled ones, the developers. A lot are extremely awkward. Books, maybe a little more. I guess my world view is mostly influenced by people talking or posting or what race of people eventually buries a knife into me. Oh and sports radio.
