Re: lack of job security is a consequence of economics, not politics

Don Imus: nameless cog in the machine compared to the demographic spending power of WNBA fans.
You passed up some big targets here. Charlie Sheen: nameless cog in the machine that earned his employers heaps of cash making films like Platoon while he was probably on lots of drugs, compared to the demographic spending power of everyone who wanted to know that lids got blown off everything and dirty laundry would be aired. This is the power the mob has - not that it can frighten Sheen's bosses, but that it can motivate them to throw someone who seems plenty valuable under the bus for the sake of a profit - whether the cash grab of selling out an actor in mid crisis or the breathing room or political gains made in securing the poker chip's worth of credibility they got for Imus. When greasy racist Donald Sterling got his phone tapped, he literally said "Don't put him [Magic Johnson] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me." He's incredibly rich and has little time left on Earth, he had endless business connections, he was 'punished' for his misconduct by making a profit of over half a billion and appearing in public a few times. The THEY in his statement weren't some Majestic-12 federal investigators operating out of an underground bunker, they were profiteering media hacks whose only power was how they directed flash points of mass anger. And you probably liked what they did that time, but regardless you didn't think you could do anything about it short of blowing up their studios. You think Imus is gonna keep my viewpoint from looking solid? There's a reason I picked Oppenheimer.
This is an incredibly libertarian point of view that shits mightily on over a century of progress in labor laws.
Hey, I'm not saying I like it or I don't fight against it in my way. I'm just saying your century of progress in labor laws chalks up to bad results and the twitter firings support my perspective. You wanna get really pissed, go find some people you know that got stalked and see how good a job the police did fixing this threat not just to public safety in the workplace but people's lives.
