Peter Molyneux's The Movies

I saw Del Toro's name in the credits as visual consultant
I always appreciate a movie where the robot exoskeletons actually make sense. Avatar's combat constructors really pissed me off, but District 9's suit was great (Del Toro also acted as consultant, plus the weta-workshop people). The Matrix's were probably the worst. I guess that's one movie category where you really do just have to copy games as closely as possible. Or maybe just ask Del Toro. RIPD was on TV the other day, and holy shit is it a terrible looking movie (and terrible for other reasons). Instead of creating at least ONE puppet for the few monsters they have, they decided to stretch their CGI budget to keep them on screen for as long as possible. Jeff Bridges is hamming it up and having fun, but it's just not enough. Mortal Kombat Annihilation was on right after and the CGI final battle was amazing. I would watch that movie from beginning to end every day (I probably will now that it's in the HBO rotation).
