Well, here's some new signs
Back in June, they had a poll whether or not they should continue to offer stretch goals. Keep in mind that it was posted on their blog, so automatically only people who are seriously invested in this are going to see it. Also, keep in mind that hardly anyone says no to more content. "Day and night cycles? Yes!" "More complex AI? Sign me up!" "Ragdoll AND jiggle physics? SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY!!" I think the default thinking is that if it's being offered it's feasible and fits in the game and why would you want a game with less features? So it says volumes that only 55% said to continue stretch goals and the rest were neutral or negative on the idea. If half your hardcore audience doesn't care or want more features, you should honestly reconsider what you've promised this far. 55% is a majority so they've continued to offer stretch goals but they either took this as a warning sign or have run out of $150 ships to sell to suckers. So now they're offering ads.
$48m means CIG will create the Retaliator commercial - an in-universe ad for an in-game space ship.
This ship doesn't exist yet, by the way. What will we get at 50 million?
"Do you speak Banu? We will work with real-world linguists to create distinctive and realistic alien languages for Star Citizen's three biggest alien races, the Vanduul, the Xi'An and the Banu. No universal translators, no garbled animal noises: Star Citizen's aliens will be speaking their own authentic languages!"
It's depressing how many languages are going extinct while these dopes will be creating their own. But at least there will be a tier of nerd that can be made fun of by the ones that speak Elvish or Klingon.
