Re: Admitting powerlessness over WRPGs because I am a degenerate addict

OK. I am probably asking for it. But I love the Dragon Age games. I can't understasnd why anyone wouldn't. I know that sometimes this place has a problem with women developers (or women in general) but come on. They're good games. There were not a lot of role playing games out there when Dragon Age got enormous.
I wasn't a huge fan of DA: Origins. It was okay, I guess? The art style turned me off quite a bit. The micromanaging of combat made it tedious beyond belief. But a lot of people liked it. It was packed full of combat and options and legitimately different paths, and it wasn't a bad game by any means. I just don't dig on fantasy, like I said, and for every good segment there was a slog that I had to force myself to complete as quickly and as sloppily as possible. DA2 sucked. IT STINKS, AND I DON'T LIKE IT. The tedium of combat was ratcheted up three notches, four hours of content was copy and pasted into 20+ hours, except for a few decent scenes the writing was dogshit, and it just felt lazy and uninspired. Worm went on about its many failings at length; that's a good place to start. But here I am, about to buy the third game in a series that I haven't really enjoyed at all AT FULL PRICE. I couldn't give a shit about women developers; I don't think I haven't enjoyed DA because the leads are women. Rather, I know my dealer doesn't care about me or my health or my enjoyment of the product. In fact, last time she cut the dope with battery acid and laughed at me to my face as it burned in my veins. And here I am again, fiending for another hit and ready to pay out the nose for it. Because I'm a degenerate addict.
