Re: "opportunity because there was enough time."

I wasn't planning to stop at McDonalds for breakfast, it was just an opportunity because there was enough time
Anyone else lose their mind when they hear an unemployed person talk about "enough time"? Just me?
First of all, if a store only offers something at certain times of day, and you discover you can take advantage of it because a prior errand was finished before the time limit, then you "had enough time." If you went on a job interview and after you got out, the place you were going to stop at was closed, then you did not have enough time to make it, no matter what you are or are not doing or the fact that you are not employed. There are only 24 hours in a day, and any action taken in any particular point in time precludes doing anything else during the duration of that action. Second, I'm not "unemployed." Unemployed implies capable of working full or part-time and that it is possible to find an employer who can hire you. I am "retired on a disability pension." There is a difference. I'm presumed - correctly - not able to get regular work because of my disability. And the numbers support this, the unemployment rate for the disabled is around 80%. The worst thing is the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 exacerbated this problem, a lot of employers are afraid they'll have to provide excessively onerous accommodations for disabled employees, but that is not what is required. Your company can save money, allow your employees to take more money home, and remove your business from being subject to many federal rules, by allowing higher-paid employees to be employees of their own company as opposed to direct employees, but way too many employers won't consider it and they act like it's still 1930 as far as hiring people or obtaining people to perform a job.
