People are really happy with their rewards.

I guess actually putting some heart into it was another unreached stretch goal.
A guy paid $2500 for bald to read his book. Here's his experience:
-Last August I purchased the option for Jerry Holkins, aka Tycho from Penny Arcade, to beta-read and provide notes on my book for $2,500 and got, well, not very much. I basically waited ten months for a pat on the back.

It was part of their Penny Arcade Sells Out kickstarter, where they tried to raise a million dollars to go without ads on the site for a year. It was one of the most expensive reward tiers, and there were only five slots. I grabbed mine within the first few days, and the other slots filled up soon after that. To be honest I only purchased the option because I hoped he would like it and then talk about it on the site, giving me a much needed boost in visibility. He liked it, but that's as far as it went. Got eight pages of little editorial tweaks I could have found on another read-through, and a verbal thumbs-up. I didn't even get my follow-up questions answered, since I gave up after waiting two months. Kinda disappointing.
Now, I would guess that reading a stranger's book and providing feedback for it would be a difficult thing to buckle down and do. I get that. But the fucking guy paid $2500 for it. What on earth did bald think he paid the money for? Fucking guy couldn't read it and talk about it on his news page? Really? Not for twenty-five hundred dollars? What a piece of shit. Sure, the guys who supported their Kickstarter are getting what they paid for, but I thought there would be the CHANCE that the two craven filth at PA would put a modicum of effort into it. But no, they think they deserve every dollar they got for their Kickstarter and having to do anything about it is a chore.
